Tatras, with 29 peaks higher than 2,500 metres are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains. To the north, close to the Polish border, are the High Tatras which are a popular hiking and skiing destination and home to many scenic lakes and valleys  The Tatra mountain range is represented as one of the three hills on the coat of arms of Slovakia.

1.day
Arrival at the capital city of Slovakia – Bratislava, during the day.  We will be accomodated and take part in a guided evening sightseeing tour throught the city centre.

2.day
The second day – must-see attractions and historical sights. Within the tour we plan to visit:

– Bratislava Castle, which is a significant memorial of the socio – historical development in the area
– visit the  Cathedral of St. Martin,  a Gothic sacral cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese, it is the largest and one of the oldest churches in Bratislava
– The Primatial Palace – one of the most beautiful  classicist buildings in Slovakia, former seat of archbishop of Esztergom,  currently the seat of the mayor of the city.
– Hodžovo square – During the era of socialism, it used to be a place of peace protests against the regime.
– Grassalkovich Palace, the location of the seat of the president of Slovakia, the main attraction of the Hodžovo Square
– The Mirbach Palace – a Rococo- style palace in the Old Town, Bratislava. One of the most preserved monuments of this era.
– Devin Castle is a ruin of a Gothic castle above the River Delta of the Danube and Moravia. The castle former occupation was the Celtic and Roman ethnic minority.
– Boat trip in the Danube – the opportunity to enjoy the panorama of the Danube and Bratislava from another perspective.

3.day
Evening transfer to the Martin city. Accommodation and city sightseeing.

4. day
Breakfat in the morning, hiking to Martinské hole. Please wear sport shoes and carry at least 2 litres of water, the ascent of the mountain can take up to three hours. You can enjoy beautiful views of the Fatra National Park and Turčianska hollow basin. Return to the hotel and a visit of  the Museum of the Slovak Village –  the largest ethnographic open- air exhibition in Slovakia.

5.day
In the morning we are transfering to the national park Vysoké Tatry – „High Tatras“ . Hiking from Skalnaté pleso to the Zamkovsky cottage on Hrebienok. Accommodation in a hotel in the location of Štrbské Pleso. Please wear sport shoes, jacket – the weather in Tatra is very variable, take water, eventually a cape and a snack.

6.day
In case of good weather hiking to the Lomnický štít, or Rysy. Lomnický štít is one of the highest and most visited mountain peaks in the High Tatras, it is 2634 metres above sea level. Be ready for an 4-5 hours hike.

7.day
Morning transfer to the eastern of Slovakia. The Spiš Castle is one of the largest castle sites in Central Europe. It represents the architecture of the 12th to the 18th Century. The castle is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Accommodation in Košice.

8.day
Morning tour of the city and its attractions.- St. Elizabeth Cathedral – is the largest cathedral in Slovakia with a capacity of over 5000 people. It is one of the easternmost Gothic cathedrals in Europe. Next sightseeing throught the city: Urban’s Tower– Archbishop’s Palace– Jakab Palace – a Neo-Gothic building and St. Michael Chaple

9. day
Departure to Vienna with short break during the journey.

The next day transfer to Martin with the stop in Trnava. Trnava is also known as little Rome, mainly due to the large number of sacred monuments of the Gothic and Baroque style. Evening transfer to the Martin city. Accommodation and city sightseeing with tasting of typical Slovak cuisine.

4.day
Other day trip to the Slovak Village Museum, and Slovak National Museum. In the evening, relax in Turčianske Teplice in the welness.  Overnight stay in Martin.

5.day
Early in the morning, transfer to High Tatras. Walk to Štrbské Pleso and then accommodation. (Hotel with wellness). Subsequently, transfer to Starý Smokovec, shopping, funicular, restaurants, attractions.

6.day
All-day hiking on Rysy. It is the highest open hill of Slovakia and the highest hill of Poland.

7.day
